Which would create the seeds of a new American Revolution, or American Revolution Part 2.

Egypt protests: America’s secret backing for rebel leaders behind uprising

Reminds me of The Beatles “And you say you want a revolution”...

“Trust me, the Obama spin machine is already figuring out how to “Blame Bush”.”

There is plenty of blame to go around. We have been supporting Mubarak since Sadat was killed in 1981. Since the president is in charge of foreign policy, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush & Obama all have to take a hit on this one. Supporting a dictator with billions of taxpayer money for 30 years is nothing more than inviting a fundamentalist Islamic take over. History repeating itself. Can anyone say the Shah of Iran? Same $hit, different year.

I don't like Obama.I didn't like Clinton. I hated Carter.

That said, I resent the media and politicians trying to either blame or credit the POTUS for what is happening in Egypt.

Egypt is a sovereign nation.
What happens to them, as a nation seething with internal conflict is not of vital interest to the USA. Nor can it be blamed on us.
They were not attacked by an external force.
We should watch closely, and prepare to deal with the emerging situation.
But it is not really our “problem” to solve, and to react in any way that meddles with their own current internal conflict is not our place, nor is it in our own best interest.

This is the USA.
We are not a population of citizens interested in expanding an “empire”.
We citizens are willing and able to unite and to destroy any group of people who declare themselves to be our enemy.

We are not a people who do so lightly, no matter who is POTUS.

Yes, I know it is probable that we will eventually have to endure another world war, against the Islamic nations.
They will make their choices, and all of mankind must deal with the consequences.

Millions will die because Islam is evil.

Time to face the fact that Islam is about to launch a world wide jihad - and Americans are their target.

Islam is antithetical to America, and it is irreconcilable with America.

Unless America will “submit” to Islam, there WILL be another religious war, and the present jihadi attacks will prove to be insignificant compared to the damage the Moslims will inflict here.

America is a free society, and as such, can’t be armored against terrorists.

All we can do is do to the Moslim world what Rome did to Carthage.

ISLAM DELENDA EST!

Egypt is a Sunni country but with strong Shia leanings. It is the country that gave refuge to the descendants of the Prophet Mohamed in the first century AH and continues to venerate them today. Its venerable Al-Azhar University is one of the few Sunni academic institutions to teach Shia Jaafari jurisprudence alongside the four schools of Sunni jurisprudence. This is of no small import given the historical and symbolic significance of Al-Azhar. In addition, Egypt was the first officially Shia state which, founded in the mid-10th century AH, did more than its predecessors to shape the traditions and values of Egyptian society.

Much of the anger and criticism sparked by President Hosni Mubarak’s statements back in 2006 on Arab Shia was the result of them being taken out of context and isinterpreted. Those comments however sparked a division and resentment.

Suggesting that Egypt is only Sunni is not correct.

Investor’s Business Daily Editorial: Will Obama Lose Egypt?

ttp://www.investors.com/NewsAndAnalysis/Article/561401/201101281856/Fright-Of-Egypt.htm

“Does the Obama administration realize the difference between freedom-based revolutions and violent overthrows that will help jihadists?

In 2009, the Egyptian daily Almasry Alyoum reported that President Obama secretly met in Washington that year with representatives of Egypt’s jihadist Muslim Brotherhood, the Hamas ally that, while banned, dominates the opposition in the country.”

Obama will go down in history as the president who lost Egypt

http://www.haaretz.com/print-edition/news/obama-will-go-down-in-history-as-the-president-who-lost-egypt-1.340057

“Jimmy Carter will go down in American history as “the president who lost Iran,” which during his term went from being a major strategic ally of the United States to being the revolutionary Islamic Republic. Barack Obama will be remembered as the president who “lost” Turkey, Lebanon and Egypt, and during whose tenure America’s alliances in the Middle East crumbled. “

JOSCELYN&LEDEEN: Tony Blair: To defeat al Qaeda we must also defeat Iran

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/jan/28/tony-blair-to-defeat-al-qaeda-we-must-also-defeat-/

“Not only were British intelligence analysts surprised to learn that Iran and al Qaeda both had designs on Iraq, they were shocked to learn that the two worked in tandem. “Nobody foresaw ... that Iran would actually end up supporting A.Q.,” Mr. Blair told the Inquiry last year. In his view, this was a near-fatal intelligence failure, and the Brits were not alone in making it. The United States was similarly surprised.

The failure to foresee the al Qaeda-Iranian alliance stemmed from one of the great myths of the Middle East, namely that Shiites and Sunnis are like oil and water - “two completely different types of people,”as Mr. Blair put it. This myth has endured even though evidence of cooperation between al Qaeda and Iran abounds.”

Muslim (mostly Sunni) 90%, Coptic 9%, other Christian 1%. The four countries with the largest Sunni-majority populations are Egypt (where ~99% of Muslims are Sunni), Indonesia (~99%), Bangladesh (~99%) and Pakistan (~87%). Of these, Pakistan is expected to have the greatest annual growth in its number of Sunni Muslims. Indonesia’s gains will be more modest.

I’m not going to argue with you about what percentage of Sunni or Shia Egypt is as it makes no difference. I was just pointing out the history of Islam in Egypt. The two will work together to get rid of Israel anyway. Hamas and Al Qaeda are alos Sunni but work hand in hand with Iran which is Shiite.

"You never heard of Hamas?"

It DOES look like my information is dated.

If a real alliance has formed between the MB and Iran, then the only possible long-term outcome is to kill the heart of the beast.

Tehran must die.
