They were actually pretty great. Hubby was “quick” with the audience and able to entertain through four hour shows. For that reason he was able to take Bluegrass music where it had never gone before. Most of his gigs were military clubs across the country. They loved the Lower Forty and would invite them back again and again. We became sort of “part of the family” at some bases. Loring AFB in Maine, Travis in TX. A little radar station at North Touro on Cape Cod used to shut down everything saying, “Lower Forty’s here, let’s party.” Oh the adventures we had.
