There absolutely NO room for “instincts or character” in regards to making tactical decisions. You either have direct experience in Military protocol or you don't.
Not having experience in such things will wind up in a disaster. MaObama is a clear example of what that means.

Well, you may be right. Instincts and character are required for strategic decisions.
When those are poorly made, the need for tactical decisions increases greatly. See Jimmy Carter/Iran.

Sarah Palin has as much experience as Ronald Reagan did at the same points of any White House runs.
Very few Presidential candidates have any, as you say, “direct experience in Military protocol” going in.
So I'm a bit baffled by that comment?
