Selling out an old ally is a serious matter.
There is a good possibility now that Obama’s re election prospects are burning on the streets of Cairo.
Looks like Mubarak needs to skeddaddle to London ASAP.
Think there’s any chance he hangs on to power?

In his silence, Obama already has made his decision. Any support for Mubarak would have been heard in an immediate response. Obama may not yet understand this, but I’m sure his handlers knew it, and they made the decision for him.
Mubarak is the latest to be thrown under Barry’s Bus, even if he gets some tepid support later from the administration.

True, but the MB is organized and unscrupulous. They will certainly be in a strong position to pull strings and lead the mob in certain directions, even if they aren’t the true organizers and this really is a grassroots protest against Mubarak.
Egypt isn’t Iran. I daresay the Iranian people are more sophisticated about Islamist nuts like the Muslim Brotherhood, having suffered under similar rule for thirty-two years. The Egyptians are probably more easily swayed in the passion of the moment, and that’s a very, very bad thing.

The war was over and we lost back in the beginning when Bush declared Islam a religion of peace and that we would go to Iraq to win hearts and minds and leave a light footprint. We lost at that point.
Well it’s simplistic to say that this is simply an organized campaign by the Muslim Brotherhood to bring down the government.

He refers to them as ‘the Egyptian people’. Since when does thousands of protesters equate to the ‘total will of the Egyptian people’?
