ALEXANDRIA, Egypt Demonstrators in Egypt have protested against rising prices and stagnant incomes, for greater freedom and against police brutality. But religion, so often a powerful mobilizing force here, has so far played little role.
That may be about to change.
With organizers calling for demonstrations after Friday prayer, the political movement will literally be taken to the doorsteps of the nations mosques. And as the Egyptian government and security services brace for the expected wave of mass demonstrations, Islamic groups seem poised to emerge as wildcards in the growing political movement.
Heightening the tension, the Muslim Brotherhood, the largest organized opposition group in the country, announced Thursday that it would take part in the protest. The support of the Brotherhood could well change the calculus on the streets, tipping the numbers in favor of the protesters and away from the police, lending new strength to the demonstrations and further imperiling President Hosni Mubaraks reign of nearly three decades.

can’t wait to see this spill over into Saudia Arabia, and Mecca. Wow, this is more fun than watching the Super Bowl.
The moon worshippers are taking a page out of Rahmbo’s playbook on this one:
“Never let a good crisis go to waste.”
Is Obama’s good neighbor going too?? Louis Farakhan?
I'm sure the IDF does not share your enthusiasm.
You should read up on the Muslim Brotherhood. They were a source of inspiration for Bin Laden.
Religions role MAY grow? No doubt.
Sure wish America would wake up that oil aint all that bad. We have plenty to free ourselves from the rest of the world for a while RIGHT HERE.
Very Scary stuff going on over there... El Baradhei? Puhleeze!
Reaction from Bambi....chirp chirp chirp
Very scary stuff indeed. I hear that the power has been cut in addition to the Internet, and the police are pouring petrol in the squares... presumably to light it to disperse protesters.
Also, “veteren” protesters from the 60’s and 70’s are organizing. I don’t know if those are MB types or pro-democracy types.
Western media isn’t covering this too much, and with communications cut they’ll cover even less of it. So, my guess is that there will be a lot of civilians killed and quiet will eventually be restored... and freedoms curtailed.

If that doesn’t have it’s own thread you should post it.
We saw this movie before, Tehran 1979.
Let us not forget that as a true Marxist, our President Barack Obama, seeks the downfall of Capitalism and Christianity by any means.
For decades the Lefties have been totally aligned with the Muslim radicals in a joint effort.
Obama is likely having wet dreams of the new radical Islamic state that will emerge from the ashes in Egypt.
Obama believes that he will be sanctified as a true Muslim and a true Socialist.
Behind the scenes Obama and his leftist cohorts will do everything they can without being caught to foment unrest in the Muslim countries in hopes the unrest will spread into Europe and America.
Obama does not have our interests in mind.
Please be my guest. I normally do not post threads.
You must not have been around the last time we had a weak Democrat President named Jimmy Carter and how he mucked up the Middle East.
You will not be laughing if what you say comes to pass.
Never let a good crisis go to waste.
I agree with your sentiments that it may have been from Obama’s Muslim Brotherhood that Rahm got the slogan.
If it is gotten that big of a media outcry,if parties and luminaries are announcing their role in this.....then it is no longer a revolution but an open air circus.
They might push out the government but more then likely there will be too much infighting for a real putch.Egypt’s government is unlikely to fall anytime soon, not for a movement that looks to be hijacked by those who never had the guts to hit the streets in the first place.
Be careful what you wish for. That could be us after a nicely orchestrated dollar dump by our overseas friends.
