WASHINGTON (JTA) -- U.S. Sen. Rand Paul wants to end all foreign assistance, including aid to Israel.
Paul, a Republican newly elected in Kentucky, was on CNN Wednesday outlining where he would cut the $500 billion in government spending he says is critical to sustaining the U.S. economy. His focus was on the departments of energy, education and housing.
Interviewer Wolf Blitzer then asked about foreign assistance, asking if he wanted to end "all foreign aid." Paul said yes, and Blitzer asked him about aid to Israel.
"Well, I think what you have to do is you have to look," Paul said. "When you send foreign aid, you actually [send] quite a bit to Israel's enemies. Islamic nations around Israel get quite a bit of foreign aid, too.
"You have to ask yourself, are we funding an arms race on both sides? I have a lot of sympathy and respect for Israel as a democratic nation, as a, you know, a fountain of peace and a fountain of democracy within the Middle East."
Blitzer pressed, "End all foreign aid including the foreign aid to Israel as well. Is that right?" he asked.
Paul answered, "Yes."

There are many (perhaps almost ALL) nations we could cut aid to — but Israel? Um, NO. The day we cut Israel off, GOD cuts US off.
End it for our enemies but not for our allies and friends.

Let individual Americans send whatever financial aid to whatever countries they want to assist. Let individual Americans volunteer their service to foreign countries.
Our government's role should be to defend the American homeland.
Back it up with a substaniated link as to all of the factors that we have faced indefending Isreal from the radical influence of leftist radical Islam.
You can take your check and shove it if you think that we should give Islam an advantage over Isreal at all.
The pervert Paul has clme to the defense of Iran, Islamic terrorists and the Victory mosque at Ground Zero.

I’m saying that things have changed in the last 3 years. Bush was still President then, and people were still largely in defend Bush and Bush’s policies mode. Since then, we’ve seen more clearly than ever before the Bush people not standing alongside the conservatives, but attacking them. Around Sept 07 things were not going very well here for Ron Paul. But back in Sept 07, we liked Karl Rove here, instead of understanding that he is not a conservative, but someone who was working for Bush in 80 against Reagan.
Why not, your telling everyone else how they should spend theirs.

Of course then we can all worship the Pauls and maybe even start accepting their stand on treating homosexual beahvior as equal in the miltiary as well.
And then maybe we could change the United States currency as well.

Americas should demand ending ALL foreign aid until we can regroup, and save our OWN country from this pending economic disaster.

We should have a solid relationship with Israel, but we should not be buying the ‘right’ to interfere in their internal policies.
How about I just simply keep on opposing you.
Pull up the links gving exact amounts of foreign aid that we give and then lets discuss it and I may agree with you on 99%.
But the Pauls specifically keep talkng about how we have to cut off our allies ‘equally’. They are full of it and our traitors. Islamist terrorist apoligists and Code Pink losers. Both of them.
