CHICAGO (WLS) - A Tea Party-backed congressman from the Northwest suburbs is criticizing a leading figure in the Tea Party movement.
Joe Walsh told Roe and Roeper that Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann should not have delivered a Tea Party response to the president's State of the Union address Tuesday night.
Walsh says her message took attention away from the main Republican speech by Congressman Paul Ryan.
"I mean there is no more Tea Party freshman on the planet than myself, but I'll be the first to say, respectfully, Michele had no business making that speech last night, Walsh said. I mean Paul Ryan gave the Republican response. We're all Republicans. I think it was a distraction that she did it, and it was just fodder for the media to do as you just said. To try to create this separation within the party."
Walsh was recently sworn in as a freshman congressman replacing Democrat Melissa Bean.
I am NOT a republican. I am a Conservative.
I agree. If someone does have an issue with another on the team, settle it in private and keep it out of the media. As for all of us, we need to have some patience as this congress is just getting started. Too many want to accept defeat before the battle even starts.
Leni I agree with your comments but I think it would have been much better if Joe Walsh hadn’t held up Michelle Bachmann for ridicule. We get enough of that from the Left.
Wouldn’t it have been better to talk amongst themselves this early on with so much hate coming from the Left, and expressed his views privately? He shouldn’t have said it.
If he felt there was some good reason to point her out to the media to get some important word out to the voters, of course he should speak up. But who was served by his comments?
Just tone down the Ego guys...
Agree, the Republican party is "On Probation"
IMO, Republican leadership allowed it to become a potential distraction with their ham handed “Paul Ryan speaks for the Republican Party” nonsense.
Rep. Joe Walsh could be the first TP political casualty of 2012.
As much as I love Michelle Bachmann and though she gave a dynamic speech, I happen to agree with Walsh. But people should follow Ronald Reagan’s advice, “If you can’t say something nice about a [Tea Party] Republican then you shouldn’t say anything.”
“Ryans speech after the SOTU did not impress me”
Ditto. I like Ryan but he should have said what Michelle Bachmann said. She sounded and looked presidential. I’m a little tired of the Boys club running the GOP show. If they got their nose out of joint because she showed them up then tough tacos.
Republicans can love Paul Ryan and Michelle Bachmann equally and at the same time.
What needs to be answered IS.. is HE A RINO.. stupid or a PollyAnna.. to take that position..
This troll hey is still here?
Check his posting history.
Troll alert.
Let me understand this:
Maverick = Good
Rogue = Bad
Got it.
If the Tea Party movement is fundamentally libertarian that means they want all porn, dope, and prostitution legal without any restrictions, and all-homo agenda stuff legalized.
That’s what the official LP platform says on their site.
I’m sure the vast majority of people who identify with the Tea Party movement are not on that page.
To be Libertarian is to be for minimal government
It is anti-statist (Fascist, Communist, Socialist, etc.)
The “Libertarian Party” is more anarchist
It tends to be full of crazies.
Why not? If people dont like it dont listen, many have choose not to listen to the idiot in the WH and it has worked fine for them
I have to say “this is a different Joe Walsh” although you know that ;-)
Here’s the original, takin’ it easy with his (and my) ham radio hobby:
A new ‘TPINO’ comes out of the woodwork!
well, bigbob; who do you mean by ‘us’ ?
