Obama is making the same mistake Carter made with the Shah. Sure the Shah wasn't perfect, but he sure as hell beat the alternative.
Exactly- and further instability in the region is not good for anyone (except the bad guys) right now. But we expected The One to always side with them anyway (the bad guys) so not a real shock- but a signal at any rate.
