Lebanon - which, however ineffectively, served as something of a brake on Hezbollah, is gone....
Egypt, which has actually been a defacto ally of Israel against Hamas is collapsing... (Mubarak’s son skipping the country is an indicator that things there are worse than is being reported...)
This is not good.....

The other day, when Lebanon blew up, I looked up Bahbah’s FR ‘About’ page (it’s still there) looking to see if she still had the old Ping List posted there, with an eye to resurrecting the old “News From the Long War” running/live thread...
No luck....
Somebody, somewhere, still has a copy of it, but I don’t know who it might be.....

To hell with Iraq and Afghanistan. Why don’t we take over Lebanon? They have some great beaches and would make a dandy command center from which to blow the Muzzies to kingdom come when the time comes (and it’s coming).
