Bachmann’s Speech Will Push Tea Party Goals (because there's still too many Rats and RINOs)

It is a Washington tradition that on the night the president gives his annual address to Congress, a member of the opposition gives a formal response. Tonight, there will be an opposition to the opposition response.

Representative Michele Bachmann, who has styled herself as the leader of the Tea Party movement within the House, plans to give her own rebuttal to President Obama’s speech following the official reply given by Representative Paul D. Ryan, Republican of Wisconsin, the chairman of the House Budget Committee.

Mr. Ryan has become a focus of attention for members of both parties because of the unusual powers granted to him in the budget process that has commenced on the Hill, and because he is the author of the Republican fiscal road map, a budget alternative to what Democrats have on the table.

But Ms. Bachmann had proven herself a potent force all on her own, making the rounds on conservative talk shows and speaking for the more conservative corner of the Republican caucus, which has increased with scores of new members elected last November. Ms. Bachmann is expected to attack the President’s speech and make a case for fiscal discipline, a theme of the Tea Party and Republicans generally.

Just witnessed a Tea Party guy make a complete ass of himself on hardball, what a worthless representitive for our side. Sat there and smiled as they took turns pounding him, couldn’t defend Bachman, our founders, even the 3/5ths comprimise (the democrat slave owners wanted their slaves counted as a whole person for chosing how many reps the states get, the non slaves states said you couldn’t count them because it gives more power to slave states, the comprimise was better than giving in 100% to the democrat slave owners) This guy was clueless.

I learned at my mother’s knee:

“Fools’ names, like their faces, always seen in public places.”

Too bad.

Bachmann will make Ryan look like a democrat.

The GOP "leadership" does not have the will or the character for real cuts. They will be discussing tax increases within a couple of months, count on it.

I’m wondering if there is a definitive time and channel for Bachman’s address. I sure don’t want to make a mistake and actually catch even a minute of barry the bastard lying to me. What network and at what time will Bachman speak?

What was Chrissie talking about, saying Bachmann was claiming that John Adams abolished slavery in the United States? (after which Schumer opined that she’s uneducated and ignorant)

This is as close as I can find to a transcript. There’s video at the link:

Speaking at an Iowans For Tax Relief event, Bachmann (R-MN) also noted how slavery was a “scourge” on American history, but added that “we also know that the very founders that wrote those documents worked tirelessly until slavery was no more in the United States.”

“And,” she continued, “I think it is high time that we recognize the contribution of our forbearers who worked tirelessly — men like John Quincy Adams, who would not rest until slavery was extinguished in the country.”

Some people are just plain inarticulate.

Of course, on Hardball it is difficult to get a word in edgewise.

After all of the fuss about who was speaking after the SOTU here is what I noticed: on CNN the progressive dems and media were livid at Bachmann because of the content. They were ticked Bachmann showed a visual chart of what a complete train wreck Obama and they are. Pelosi got her rebuttal in with Greta I sense... because they didn’t want the voters seeing the graphic charts and that -it was a rebuttal of Bachmann- because Ryan’s was RINO and PC.
