I have noticed that liberals, despite their repeated calls to the contrary, want to impose their beliefs on others while conservatives do not.

That would depend on the type of conservative. Social conservatives are notorious for wanting to impose beliefs. Remember the old saying "Democrats want government out of your bedroom and into your wallet, Republicans want government out of your wallet and into your bedroom."

“Social conservatives are notorious for wanting to impose beliefs.”

So, according to you, when an economics-only conservative or a libertarian insists on making illegal drugs legal...they are not attempting to “impose their beliefs”?

Silliness.

Social conservatives are notorious for wanting to impose beliefs.

This is true-- but only because the MSM and Hollywood--and hence the sheeple they program--won't acknowledge that the Secular Left also wants to impose its beliefs on everyone.

Take homosexuality as an example. Social conservatives tend to disapprove of this behavior. And they would want schools to teach their viewpoint. But they would probably be mollified if the Left didn't want to insist upon foisting pro-gay messages into curricula. In other words, if the school systems were truly neutral on the subject, then there would not be so much outrage.

I am also now tired of the "conservatives want to be in your bedroom" argument. Abortions don't happen in bedrooms-- they happen in "clinics." And no credible conservative advocates banning contraceptives. Yet now the Liberals want the government to be able to tell your own doctor what treatments that he or she will be able to give you. Talk about an invasion of privacy!
