This makes me sick.
The song and film depicts a group of Peoples Volunteer Army soldiers who are first hemmed in at Shanganling (or Triangle Hill) and then, when reinforcements arrive, take up their rifles and counterattack the U.S. military jackals.
Mmmm mmmmm.
Why did we have Lang Lang playing at the White House for Hu?
Do the Chinese call Billy Joel in when entertaining American dignitaries? Elton John when the Brits are around?
“The song Lang Lang played describes how beautiful China is and then near the end has this verse, When friends are here, there is fine wine /But if the jackal comes /What greets it is the hunting rifle. The jackal in the song is the United States”
Good grief.
They should have been promptly escorted out of the White House, and told not to come back until they learned some manners.
That’s exactly the way I feel about the O cabal.
