I'm not a lawyer, but I've had friends who were adopted, so I can mention the generalities, but not discuss the legal specificities - particularly since each state is different.
Maybe freeper muawiyah can explain it....
I suppose no one associated that sort of thing with this situation because the adoption still involved one biological parent.
So - when a mom has a step-dad adopt the child - they would seal the original too. Never to ever be unsealed again?
And what makes it even more bizarre - is that mommy witnessed her son reclaim his original name. And still? everything remains sealed forever?
All you need to do is find out which states (or provinces) don't ever open those records and there you have it!
So, let me say this about that, Stanley Ann's own baby-daddy wanted a son so bad he named her Stanley! A guy like that would do anything to get a son ~ even get a surrogate mother ~ and with Stanley on the route to getting a Ph.D there was a good chance he wouldn't even live to see a grandson.
All makes more sense.
BTW, I gather abortion was some sort of issue to Obama's grandparents and his mother ~ they were people who didn't believe in it ~ yet he does. I have met adult adoptees who are angry with their step-family for their not having been aborted. Maybe they think they could have started over or something.
A closed record is the answer ~ and it links well with his attitude toward abortion making him an emotional basket case.
