IIRC, the HI Birth Index that is available to the public does not provide any year of birth information, which is kept confidential and redacted. Only the designation “male” or “female” is provided as additional information in the index

The fact that the name BHO II is verified to be in the index currently does not tell you the year of the birth or the year that the vital records were “accepted.”
The name in the index cannot tell us whether that name was a name on contemporaneous 1961 vital records (home or hospital birth or foreign birth to HI resident) or alternatively the if the name BHO II is the name that remained in the index after possible amendment or even a series of amendments to add and remove an adoptive name.

Obama has been reported by Hawaiian authorities as altering his Hawaiian birth document in 2008 when he started to campaign for the Presidency! Probably when the name change occurred or was added to the listing.
