"MSNBC thanks Keith for his integral role in MSNBC’s success..."

I'd like to know how MSNBC defines success. Aren't they the lowest rated cable network in the known universe?

Sounds like the new owner of NBC is serious about making money and not allowing blowhards to destroy the bottom line as Olberman has.

This could be a reawakening of MSM as they realize that pushing Marxist drivel is a loser.

There does come a moment when even Marxists become Capitalists.

Namely, when their job is on the line.

Contract ran out my ass. He has no one watching him rant and rave.

Yes. I received a Breaking news email from 77WABC radio in NY that Olbermann leaves MSNBC. MSNBC ends contract with “ Coundown” His last show was tonight.

With the Comcast takeover, Tim Conway Jr predicted this on his KFI show in Los Angeles.

“thanks Keith for his integral role in MSNBC’s success”

I would not call pointing the ratings nose to the ground with the mixtures rich and throttles to the firewall “success,” but maybe that’s just me.

If MSLSD wants to make money, they need to compete with Fox on the right. Jettison the entire lineup and every producer and just start over.
Imagine a true conservative line-up, which would not only compete with Fox but probably kick Fox’s middle of the road lineup.

Give Mark Levin an hour a day on the Constitution
Coulter & Malkin point/counterpoint.
Bring back Laura Ingraham
NRA TV news
Sirius/XM hour with Wilkow, Church and Boortz
See if Rush wants another shot at TV
Keep the morning Shmoe as the only liberal, and as another poster suggested, let Mika do the news topless.

Yeah, he's gone. I think I watched him, no more than perhaps three or four times in his (I believe) 8 year stint. It must be the ratings.

Maybe “Countdown” was considered un-PC, associating with the countdown of a ballistic missile, thus a reference to a violent weapon, or maybe they confirmed Keith’s brain matter was found in the vicinity of his lower intestine.

Olbermann, fail at ESPN, mega fail at NBC SNF, epic fail at PMS-NBC. What’s next, the WB?

To quote an old game show hostess: “You ARE the Weakest Link, goodbye!”

Some of the comments under this article are priceless.

It looks like one more common sense, intelligent person has been removed from the airwaves. It looks like as much as I enjoy the other MSNBC programs, I am going to be forced to boycott the network. I consider myself part of the Christian left, and whether not Keith was aware of it, I felt he articulated the ideals of those of us who found shelter in few other places on television.

Keith Olbermann was the only rational voice on television. Msnbc has lost me as a viewer. Thankfully we still have John Stewart.

Man when I was a teenager keith was the reason I started watching news and caring about what’s going on …I hope another network picks him up.

You Fox lovers are delusional. You couldn’t possibly appreciate the truth that comes from these MSNBC commentators, least of all Keith. Keith, Rachel, Ed, Chris , Dylan, Lawrence…. just the best!

Oh Nooo!!! Keith was so out spoken, So intellegent, So well spoken. Score one more for fox. This sucks !!! We all need a voice .

Unbelievable ! The only people who don’t love Keith are the Corporate Prostitutes and the Fox Watching, Talk Radio Listening, Knuckle Dragging Neanderthals.

And there's 18 more pages of whining....

Could it be a sign that MSNBC is looking to cleaning up its house now that Comcast has bought NBC?
