In the last 24 hours, former U.S. House speaker Newt Gingrich has touched base with several prominent Republicans in his former home state, telling them that he intends to make a run for president in 2012 using Georgia as his base and that he already has his eye on office space in Buckhead for a campaign headquarters.

Gingrich met on Thursday with Nathan Deal, whom Gingrich endorsed during a critical phase of last years Republican primary for governor.
House Speaker David Ralston introduced Gingrich Thursday night at a downtown Atlanta affair hosted by the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce.
The visits and conversations some face-to-face, others on the phone appear to be an attempt by Gingrich to revive his old campaign network and lock down as much support as possible in a state won by Republican Mike Huckabee in the 2008 presidential primary.

So I guess Chrissy Matthews....er....Newt Gingrich is going to run in 2012?
Cannot tell the difference between Chrissy and Newt
No, it was all about Newt.
Is Newt gonna run with Pelosi as his running mate??
LOL
As I see it, being smart has nothing to do with sitting next to Pelosi. Sitting with Pelosi was a political position which had nothing to do with brain structure.
Really? I'm way past that point. Under those conditions Newt still would not get my vote... and of course neither would Obama.
“As I see it, being smart has nothing to do with sitting next to Pelosi. Sitting with Pelosi was a political position which had nothing to do with brain structure.”
You could be right.
He always says that, he said it 2 years ago too, and 8 years before that, and 4 years before that....
I remember him talking about this back when I was in college.
I also remember him talking about this when I was in high school, its a publicity stunt.
He's like the boy who cried wolf, only he cries "Maybe I'll run for prez.".
Keep in mind, he has also played around publicly with running for mayor and governor, in spite of having never had any intention to do either......
Especially when Spitzer ran, he drummed up the publicity big time, then endorsed a check for Spitzer (turned out him and Spitzers dad, were friends from way back, he just liked having the press around him).
With Pelosi as his running mate ...
He’ll never get my vote either. He’s thrown too many air kisses to the Left.
Gingrich lost me for taking cheap shots at Palin. I won’t even give him a look.
Hmmm...I didn’t realize that the âCommissioner for Cesspool Inspectionsâ was an elected position...
Oh, please don’t do this to us, Newt.
PING!
