Interesting thread!
"Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" by Crosby, Stills & Nash has long been a favorite of mine.
If we include names of places in addition to people, there just ain't a better country song out there than "Amarillo By Morning" by George Strait.

Great song . . . and it just occurred to me that the Allman Brothers have a few songs with names in them. Right off the top of my head, I can think of (in addition to "Melissa"):
"Jessica"
"Little Martha"
"In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed"
"Louisiana Lou and Three Card Monty John"

Well, the one I hate the most is “Sam” by Olivia Newton John.
My favorite?
“The Ballad of Curtis Lowe” by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
