Really funny that you write that because I have really been sensing that myself, that if she does run, I must be all in.
Well, let's see. In 2000 Bush's driving history became a molotov in the media's hands. In 2012, it would not surprise me in the least if the media borrowed a fresh cadaver from some city morgue and put it in Palin's campaign bus undercarriage. If they have to, they'll plant evidence, commit violence, you name it. PDS is to BDS as ebola is to chicken pox.
Maybe the naysayers and hand ringers are right about Palin’s poor chances of winning the Presidency, but it will be the country’s loss if the next President of the United States isn’t as solidly conservative, and as dedicated to preserving those traditions and values that make this a great country, as Sarah Palin is.
See my post at #61.
untied = united
Though it still fits...they are mentally ‘untied’....
Heh...that answers the questions of why she unceremoniously dumped him from her circle of advisors.
As SHOCKING as THIS is the ENTIRE NorthEast is RINO Central.
I still think she will run and it will be against Hillary. Obama will either not run or bow out during the campaign, tapping Hillary as he has been instructed to do.
I too share that trait.
How about....Condollezza Rice?
Or maybe Star Parker?
But enough from me! IMHO...the chosen candidate MUST appeal to the Tea Partiers, the independent voter, and the true conservative and be very clearly anti-left.
Further, they must add name recognition, have a very "thick skin", and be an incredible public speaker. (I would also add that they must be a natural born US citizen. This didn't even come into play before the office of president was userped by a foreigner).
It is time to put the left firmly and completely on the defensive. Given that the economy appears to be finally turning around....taking the "trash" out of this country come 2012 is going to be a huge hill to climb.
With Ms. Palin (assuming it IS Ms. Palin) and a superb running mate...it will be one hell of a battle.
So...who's your pick??
Good points! I wish she’d talk more about energy. Unlike most pols, she actually knows a thing or two about it; and it would be helpful if more Americans got themselves educated on the subject of domestic energy sources, particularly in Alaska. Right now, most of what people know, ain’t so. They’re spoonfed misinfo by the media and the educational establishment; in a general election some folks will actually learn facts, if only incidentally.
I must also note that Governor Palin is famous for saying, "Don't Retreat, Reload." I think that the Tuscon thing is a reminder of this pugnacity worthy of the Minbari Warrior Caste.
It has occurred to me that Sarah Palin has the attitude that George Washington and Ronald Reagan had towards power-- they didn't really "need" it. But they would serve if they thought that the nation required it. Thus, if Sarah Palin can help someone else who shares her values and priorities become POTUS, then that is fine by her. But if she has to do it herself, then she will try to do so. I think that her political biography shows this from the local PTA to the 2008 campaign.
What I fear may deter her from running for the Presidency are the very real threats to her own personal safety and that of her family. If anyone is concerned about the level of death threats against Mr. Obama, then they should get ready for some really kooky action.
You have to put yourself in the mindset of an apolitical independent.
They get their politics from the Daly Show, Saturday Night Live.
Obama will be an incumbent.
The independent will make the decision on what president will suck less and vote for the incumbent.
Unless there is some foreign crisis, or the price of gas-travel is so ridiculously high.
Her Vice President needs to be someone who will give her “gravitas” — like Cheney did for W.
Not a single word describing her qualifications to actually do the job. No need to wonder why.
I've been on board with Mrs. Palin since she burst on the scene in 2008 (I admit, I never heard of her before her name was tossed out as a possible VP candidate for Mr. McCain). I even voted for her in 2008 (true, she had an old RINO attached to her ticket - but I voted for Mrs. Palin - not the old baggage), and I'd be happy to vote for her if she decides to run in 2012.
My only 'reservation' has been the concern that she and her family would be continually excoriated by the communist/atheist media ... But the last couple of years have shown that it doesn't matter whether or not she runs - the scum in the media will attack her and her family anyways. So if she runs, she has my vote.
MRS. PALIN
Wait until gas hits $4 or $5 per gallon. Our Sarah will have a LOT to say then.
