Reminds me of "Darkness at Noon". The same argument is now applicable to those who would control the proposed alternative, "TrueBlueFreedom.com",....it would just be too important to be left in their hands.
Ergo, why should they now become the arbiters of expression since they seek to control from their perspective as JimRob has controlled from his, (which IMHO has been very responsibly executed.)
IMHO, had the mystery poster been more humble, trustworthy, and virtuous, the proposal of an alternative site would have no relationship to personal perspectives of either FreeRepublic and especially the envious attacks on JimRob.
The entire proposal is hypocritical.
Forgot to note the most important feature of FR, is that it IS free speech. It is a method by which the founder is able to converse with others and nobody else has the authority to deny him that course when exercised responsibly (i.e. not shouting ‘fire’ in a crowded theater).
If the originator of the mail wants to open another website, knock themselves out. It still doesn’t warrant attacks of FR or its founder.
