“The site isn’t even up!”

LOL: She wants to generate a capitalistic “buzz” -— a real hunger and demand for an alternative to FR! lol; lol; lol.

Why is it so critical we all abandon FR?

THREE MAIN COMPLAINTS:

1) “The first reason is simple: Free Republic is too important to [be] left in the hands of JimRob.”

Translation: The MAN who has deftly commanded the helm of the most unique, priceless, and factually informative grassroots website since the invention of the internet is SUDDENLY too incapable of carrying on.

SO....what is the answer to this grandiose and unsubstantiated accusation? Ms Blog-Pimp will attempt to start FR-lite. lol; lol; lol.

2)”JR doesn’t believe in capitalism, since he refuses to solicit ads to pay for his expenses.”

Another guffaw: Has JR ever spared bandwidth to voice his personal opinions on the degenerate alternatives to capitalism?

More specifically to answer the charge, JR is one step (quantum leap) ahead of the neophyte accuser:

JR QUOTE: “Now we could go commercial. We could sell ads. We could sell subscriptions or memberships, We could sell t-shirts and hats. But the moment we do, we invite scrutiny and copyright lawsuits. Before going commercial we would have to scrub our archives of any possible copyright violations.

And we’d have to tighten up our current operations to make sure no one posts anything that could get us into trouble with any publisher of stories, photos, images, etc. And with sharks like Righthaven swimming around, there will always be room for trouble.

And going commercial still wouldn’t guarantee enough income to build and maintain a paid staff, bullet proof software, redundant systems, etc.”

3) “JR is a petty tyrant. How many of you know somebody who was purged?”

Translation: Like a good householder, JR knows when to put out the trash.

On the rare occasion FR has thrown out something worthwhile, JR has had the foresight and humility to reconsider and bring it back into the house.

My feelers are hurt that I wasn’t worthy of an invite...NOT!

It’s laughable and convoluted, but also damn nasty.

Someone has to fall on the sword to see who it is....an invitee, and I didn’t get one.

Well we have all seen new websites come and go.
It takes years or decades to build up a site like FR.

That's the liberal reasoning for the Fairness Doctrine

The truth is that after the failure of Air America and the decline of broadcast news, the liberals want to use the Fairness Doctrine to steal away the audience that was carefully built up over the years by Rush Limbaugh and Fox News. They want to force that audience to listen to the left-wing messages that the liberals couldn't get out on their own.

It's like trying to open up a tofu restaurant next to a McDonalds, and then when your tofu restaurant fails you you claim "neighborhood/local good" to force McDonalds to sell your tofu at their restaurant.

Saying that JimRob is too small to be allowed to continue running FR is saying that there are more important people/messages who would like to usurp FR for their purposes.
