Thank you for the information. So Palin does support a path to citizenship, which is amnesty, whether she or O’Reilly, or McCain, or Bush wants to admit it or not.

That is the same as saying she supports the complete demographic destruction of the GOP, or at least of a Republican party that leans conservative.

But to be fair, on that mark she is no different than many (maybe most) leading Republicans. We haven’t had a good Republican standard-bearer on immigration since Calvin Coolidge. Well, maybe Eisenhower.

Fred Thompson had the best immigration plan of any candidate last time not named Tancredo. It did not contain a path to citizenship for illegals. It sought to reform legal immigration by ending the absurd Diversity Visa program and by ending extended-family chain migration. How I wish he had gotten into the race sooner and with vigor.

But getting back to Palin. It seems she would be no worse on immigration than Huckabee, Romney, Giuliani, or Newt.
