Does anyone know what percentage of the tax burden the 'rich' in Britain pay? When I worked there in the mid 80's I was making peanuts and my overall tax bite was 50%. Article from around Christmas but worth a look see.

No, the poor must do more of the heavy lifting, as Jesus clearly teaches in the Parable of the Talents.
If the "church" really does believe that socialism is the answer, then that institution really should rot away and be replaced by something new that actually DOES adhere to the Word.

A better idea would be to get the people who don't pay taxes now to pay taxes.
We need to give everyone a reason to vote for lower taxes and not just to shift the burden of taxation of on to someone else.

Jealousy. Pure and simple. According to the poor, everyone should be miserable. How many problems will that solve? that old saw is from Communism which has been a miserable failure in country after country. It is Satan’s treachery. Whoever was preaching that in a church should be escorted OUT post-haste.

The 14th amendment demands government treat every citizens equally no matter the rules of society.
If gays can sue for equal treatment by government and the courts say yes, the taxpayers have the equal right to sue.
Every citizen is to pay the same percentage and if free house, school, medicine or food is given to one, it must be given to all.

Jealousy. Pure and simple. The Arch-Bish isn't short of pound or two himself, his basic salary is the equivalent of nearly $100,000, plus expenses, plus the fact he gets to live in a palace in the middle of London: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lambeth_Palace

“Fair share”? The only “fair” share is an equal percentage, or at least the same rate, as everyone else pays.

The government creates poverty (Theft through taxes for votes as well as power/control and creates a dependent class) and loss (Regulation). The government should realize they cause the burdens.
