Ok not meaning to be a smart as* here but I am paid 6 figures as a web and database programmer and have 3 websites and 13 years experience. So with my pedigree stated, I fail to see why this board cost gazllions to run each year. My three websites, 2 of which have dynamic content, shopping carts, stream video and link to most social networking sites, total web hosting cost per month is 150 bucks. The highest end dedicated, unlimited bandwidth server can be had for 1000 per month, and we are talking Facebook like data traffic there. There is no way, probability 0 that this site cost 70k a year in technical costs to manage, not possible. Technical costs cannot cost more than a few hundred per month, if they are are the board founder is getting ripped off. For 100 bucks an hour and maybe 200 hours of total development and testing time, some shrink wrap PHP scripts for forums, and some other cheap addons I could write an ASP app that would do it all here with minimum maintenance. Don’t mean to pull on Superman’s cape , but educate me why it cost so much.

Do your sites receive daily REPEATED ATTACKS from the malicious minions of the Left.
Do YOU have to monitor your site for trolls that wish to put Jim and FR in the position of being sued for Copyright infringement?
Have you been sued at least TWICE for the activities of posters?

Obviously you have not been around long enough to know the TRUE costs of runnig this site.
I know that DailyKos et al have made it their mission to question the cost of running this site.
But, many that have been around from the beginning. 15 YEARS, 13years for me, know the history. I’m sure Jim has kept a lot of the problems private. But just those that are obvious don’t deserve to be dismissed so cavalierly.
You have no idea how big FR is do you? Or how many hits and page loads it gets per day?

I have your credentials plus some. 25 years, am presently and solely responsible for two major Federal websites, one of which is DHS-used, and am very versatile with .NET, WCF, WPF, Sharepoint, Silverlight, web services, custom controls, SQL at any level.

They employ Jim Robinson, John Robinson, run a server farm, and have many millions of message records, as well as a high-traffic load.

No offense, but this is not very impressive. Shopping cards? Streaming video? Script kiddies can do this.
I would give you a small look into what it looks like to truly DEVELOP, but any details per the architecture of my systems would be a violation of my security agreement with them. Suffice it to say we're not doing shopping carts and streaming video and links to social network sites. Ha.

What's really needed is a P2P virtual website technology. The government will eventually seize FR hosted on a physical server.
And to think I've been wasting all this money for all these years on buying transit when I could have just gotten myself 'Facebook like data traffic' from some 'unlimited bandwidth' dedicated server!
