Hey, is this an unverified report, and am I slandering a man without waiting on evidence and confirmation?
I learned that from the media.
This is the claim. We'll see if it's true.
Jared Loughner has been making death threats by phone to many people in Pima County including staff of Pima Community College, radio personalities and local bloggers. When Pima County Sheriffs Office was informed, his deputies assured the victims that he was being well managed by the mental health system. It was also suggested that further pressing of charges would be unnecessary and probably cause more problems than it solved as Jared Loughner has a family member that works for Pima County... Every victim of his threats previously must also be wondering if this tragedy could have been prevented if they had been more aggressive in pursuing charges against Mr. Loughner. Perhaps with a felony conviction he would never have been able to lawfully by the Glock 9mm Model 19 that he used to strike down the lives of six people and decimate 14 more..,,
The Pima County Sheriffs Department was aware of his violent nature and they failed to act appropriately. This tragedy leads right back to Sherriff Dupnik and all the spin in the world is not going to change that fact.
If the basic factual predicate there is true, the motivation and actions alleged make sense -- if you've dropped the ball, badly, and that's led to six murders and multiple grave injuries, damnit, you'd better start soliciting political allies and dreaming up faraway scapegoats.
Corrected: I got confused from the multiple retractions of how many had died and wrote "two." Six were killed, more gravely wounded, and more than that wounded.
The local paper reported this yesterday in the middle of their story. MSM has gone into lockdown over this..........”Dupnik said the suspected shooter has made death threats before and been contacted by law-enforcement officers. The threats weren’t against Giffords, Dupnik said.”..............
Why DRUDGE and Fox are not giving this more airplay I am not sure, but if he made death threats before and the Sheriff’s Office ignored them or just slapped him on the wrist, Dupnik has the blood of these people on his hands, not Sarah Palin of Rush Limbaugh.
Quite obviously the sheriff didn’t do his job and now is covering by running off his mouth.
I speculated to this possibility yesterday after the 2nd man was cleared. DUpnik was thrashing about pointing fingers everywhere else.
This may explain why the leftwing press is switching their narrative from ‘right wing hate’ to gun control.
No, the true blame lies with the perp.
That blogger actually has some good credentials according to this..
“James Kelley is a native of Tucson, born here in 1961. A Navy veteran, he graduated twice from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey CA majoring in Albanian and Persian-Farsi. He was a Balkan area, Middle East North Africa, Southwest Asia, and Gulf Area analyst for the Naval Security Group and the National Security Agency. He received his Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of the State of New York, Albany. Since leaving the service he has worked as a premium cruise line representative, telecommunications specialist, real estate broker, and as a substitute teacher in local school districts.
Presently, Mr. Kelley is a contributing columnist for the Arizona News-Telegraph and the Executive Director of SocialNetworkingWatchdog.Org, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to educating youth and seniors on personal security while using social networking.”

Indeed.
Something is going to hit the fan if what the Sheriff said is correct. No amount of blaming others for his own office’s incompetence is going to work. You just can’t bury this. Victims’ families are going to lawyer up and sue the county if this is true.
Wow. I generally trust Ace of Spades - we’ll see!
Poor Sarah. (And, of course, the poor victims of this evil crime.)
Calls to the Police Dispatchers are recorded and are data banked as far as I know. Ditto the Dispatchers calling up their records, this is all traceable now. IF I am correct, will they be combing through all these records going back a few years when this young man started to go downhill?
“I speculated to this possibility yesterday after the 2nd man was cleared. DUpnik was thrashing about pointing fingers everywhere else.”
Interesting- good speculation.
“he was being managed well by the mental health system”
Prove it Sheriff. IF this statement is true then the Sheriff is in deep deep doo doo.
He either lied to the threat victims about Loughner’s mental health treatment and “management” by his department.
or
He is telling the truth and still let the ball drop due to Loughner’s mother’s job.
Both, very, very problematic and we should look into whether or not this is true.
Thanks FromLori.
He sounds a lot more like a cheap politician than he does a law enforcement official.
What I wrote.

Red Steel to drpix
If so...
Hypothesis. Dupnik needs an accomplice in the crime to deflect mistakes he or his department has made dealing with Loughner. First he jumps on the band wagon alluding blame to talk radio, Palin et al., and now says that the perpetrator may have had help, but his "person of interest" is now in the clear.

“We will see if its true.” Not if we depend on the MSM. They like the sheriff and will not dig into this element of the story. And if they find out by accident, they will simply spike the facts. Alternate media is another story. But the audience is much smaller.
Ok, show of hands- how many have been around long enough to see baby get a pass because of mommy or daddy’s job? If his mom had a better position the kid would be working on a senate campaign. (Yes, I’m jaded).
