Speaker John Boehner is vowing to put bill writing power back in the hands of committees and will institute new policies that post bills and their committee rules online for 3 days. Also, the text of any legislation to be marked-up must be circulated no less than 24 hours before the markup.Now truth in testimony information electronically posted will reveal any conflicts of interest of witnesses at the Congressional hearings along with posting member attendance.
Wow. Well be able to watch webcasts of what goes on along with readings of any amendments adopted in a markup. This means the Democrat practice of slipping unread bills and unread amendments through at the last minute under some vague Reconciliation tactic will end. Ever wonder why C-SPAN only puts the camera eye on the podium of some legislator speaking? Once a awhile the camera pans the room only to reveal many empty seats. Congress controls the filming of proceedings, and the last thing they want us to realize is theyve gone missing.

Good. Very good. Now, we need him to keep the place open in the face of adversity.
I wrote to my Congressman (Amash, D-MI) this morning:
“The attempted assassination of one of your colleagues is a terrible crime. To permit Saturday’s events to prevent the operation of an entire Constitutional Branch of our Government would compound the crime. Please don’t permit this criminal to steal our Republic as he stole the lives of his victims.
“Standard boilerplate: The next Primary is in just over 18 months. We, who elected you, are watching.”
