Delaware crime: Dead man dumped at area landfill
-snip-
The man has not been identified, Wilmington Police Capt. Elmer Harris said.
Late Friday night, Newark police announced they are joining the investigation and the death had been ruled a homicide following an autopsy by the Delaware Medical Examiner’s Office.

The man’s body was taken to the state Medical Examiner’s Office where the autopsy was done. His name will be released after his identity has been determined and his relatives notified, Harris said.

Now I ask you, if his body had still not been identified after the autopsy, does that mean he didn’t have any identification on him? When and how did they eventually identify him? The earliest report I can find where he is identified is January 2. When was his house searched? When was his car impounded? Was all this done before they knew whose body they had?
WHOA NELLY!!!
Justice of the Peace Stanley Petraschuk issued the first search warrant of Wheeler’s home on the day the body was found. Attorney General Beau Biden’s office asked four days later to seal the warrant, arguing that the disclosure of its contents will compromise the investigation. ~ http://www.delawareonline.com/article/20110113/NEWS/110113005/John-Wheeler-investigation-Search-warrants-sealed
Dec 31 ~ body found; body sent to be autopsied; search warrant issued by Justice of the Peace Stanley Petraschuk (to unnamed agency) for Wheeler’s home (even though nobody knows he’s dead).
Jan 1 ~ Autopsy has been completed; body has still not been identified.
Jan 2 ~ Body identified; four search warrants issued to Newark Police to search Wheeler’s home, car and cell phone (2 warrants issued signed by 2 different people for the cell phone search).
Jan 4 ~ Beau Biden requests first search warrant be sealed. That’s the search that occurred two days before anybody knew the body was Wheeler’s. Nobody even missed him yet. His wife was overseas, and didn’t know anything was wrong. But some unnamed agency (or individual/s) searched the Wheeler home, tore up floorboards, and disappeared without a trace.
