Well someone in Pima County has been re-electing the dope for the past 30 years, and I don’t think he just put on these spots. Remember he said the immigration law was stupid and racist and that he would not enforce it.

It’s up the the voters down there, but right now this guy is only giving aid and comfort to the defense team.

Remember people like him are 15% of the US population, the rest of us have brains and know how to use them. Do you think any of your friends and neighbors will have their minds changed by this guys rants?

It may be that the sheriff is trying to put up a smokescreen to deflect blame for previous threats Laughner had made that don't seem to have been followed up on. After indulging in much speculation about how rhetorical "vitriol" on the radio pushes people over the edge, Dupnik suddenly takes the fifth, so to speak, when Megyn Kelly asks him about that point in this interview. The whole video is well worth watching, but his lawyering-up moment starts at around 10:20.

Dupnik is trying to divert attention that he did not have deputies present at the Giffords event.
Believe me had a US congressman been holding an outdoor get together in my parish there would have been a couple of deputies present.
A relative is a deputy in a neighboring parish and said his sheriff would have had a couple of deputies there and probably city police would have had a cop or two there.
That's just the way it's done here.
Dupnik is not only a hack libtard, but incompetent as a sheriff in carring out his duties.
