My email to Mr. Cowan, article author and Jackie Frank, article editor:
Hi,

This article http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE7083G120110110 was written by Mr Cowan in which he makes this claim:

Members of Congress are spat on and taunted with racial epithets before casting votes for a healthcare reform bill.
What proof does Mr. Cowan offer to back up his claim? And why wasn't it included in the article?

As far as I know, that claim was never found to have validity. If you know otherwise, please contact Andrew Brietbart immediately. He has a $100,000 reward for you.

Methinks a retraction with apology is in order. Please email me the link when you do that.

The spitting charge came when the member of Congress went up to a protestor and each was aggressively debating the other. The "spitting" was later found out to be simply saliva that came out during a heated discussion, not intentional spitting.
