Tom Hoefling: Who is really to blame for the Tucson Massacre?

Kick out God and respect for innocent human life, and violence is the inevitable result

A day after the brutal Tucson murders of Federal Judge John Roll and five others, an attack that also left Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and a dozen others severely wounded, the leftwing media and political elites are making a sickening spectacle of themselves as they finger-point and try to shift and affix blame. My suggestion is that they stand in front of a mirror when they’re doing it.

But before I spell out why, let me say that the primary blame in this case lies with the godless young man who pulled the trigger. He made the conscious, callous, brutal choice to become a mass murderer.

However, even before we really look much at the various scraps of personal information about the shooter that are already coming in, we can know beyond a shadow of a doubt what sort of socio-political phenomenon he reflects.

First, this is an individual who doesn’t fear God.

Second, this is a person who has no regard for the innocent lives of his fellow human beings, each and every one of whom were created in God’s image.

Those two things are one hundred percent certain.

Let me ask you, what modern American ideology does such a viewpoint mirror?

To whatever extent this mass murderer’s ideology is represented by his actions, it is the ideology of the American Left.

For decades, the Left has gone to any length to try and drive God out of our national life. Everyone knows it. This is not even debatable. And young people such as Jared Lee Loughner, like the Columbine High School killers before him, are not only the main targets of that worldview, they are commonly the most susceptible.

For decades, the Left has politically empowered the daily slaughter of thousands of defenseless babes in the womb via abortion. And they have done so with an uncompromising fervor. It’s like a religion to them. Because of that ghoulish, selfish, purposeful obsession, our national hands are drenched in the blood of more than fifty million innocent little boys and girls, and countless individual consciences have been seared into apathy towards acts of unspeakable violence.

Liberals can’t face themselves concerning any of this. They won’t admit the truth about what the poison fruit of their unjust ideology is. That’s why they are simply incapable of doing anything except what they’re doing: pointing fingers at others, primarily on the Right.

But what do I see the political Right doing today, as the Left tries to pin their own ideological sins on others?

Praying for the victims and their families.

Decrying the violence.

Crying out for justice.

Look in the mirror, America. And if you don’t like what you see? Get right with the One Who made you. Recognize the incalculable eternal value of every single one of your fellow human beings, no matter how developed, or “wanted,” or whether they agree with you politically or not. Work to reestablish an American culture that acknowledges God and which passes our priceless heritage of justice based on the protection of unalienable God-given rights on to the young - instead of brainwashing them with godless liberal ideology, or killing them before they can even be born.

Return to the timeless principles Frederick Douglass long ago called "the ringbolt of our nation’s destiny":

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men…”
One last note to those on the Right:

My advice would be to not get too worked up concerning the current flood of libelous nonsense from the Left. Remember what it says in the Book of Proverbs:
“As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.” – Proverbs 26:2
If you’re not pushing a merciless, godless, violent, death-loving ideology (like they are) you have nothing to worry about. Their unjust accusations won’t stick. Just keep doing the right thing. Keep praying. Keep defending life. Keep working to push back the godless, lawless, destructive delusions espoused by the Left, and God will work it all out.

He is blameless because he is merely a product of his environment.

You didn't read Post #20. That was a statement generated from what the poster called "Let's noodle this out".

If Islam raises children to believe it's okay to murder non-believers, then the same thing can happen in Tucson where a young man doesn't learn that his culture is/was based on a belief in God that says murder in a sin.

True....for those of us with more than two active brain cells.

However, when you look at the bulk of the Democrat Party support base, they believe ONLY and FULLY what their State Run Media tells them.

Look at the two year run of Palin hit pieces we've experienced to date, and even those buffoons on FR who think Palin is unelectable because she's too "polarizing".....I rest my case.

Bingo.
Unless somebody can show me a TRUE co-conspirator, not something from a feverish mind, I’m sticking with Loughner as the ONLY PERSON TO BLAME.

Go ahead and autopsy his political and moral leanings, but every person is responsible for their own actions. Looking for other actors to pin this on is just stupid and counter-productive.

Do you believe the teachings of Mohommed, or the Islamic culture, or the virulent rantings of hate-mongering imams, are in any way responsible for the actions of the suicide bomber, or does the responsibility lie solely with the one who goes “bang”?

The young man is psychotic - it would not have mattered much had he been raised in a Convent... He has had a ‘psychotic break’ as evidenced by the statements of others about the severity of his actions in recent weeks... He was deranged enough as it was - but this kind of psychotic break is well documented... His schooling in AZ has little or nothing to do with his actions. IT IS HIS BRAIN Structure and Function...

Poor schooling has a bad effect on people with normally functioning brains... but those prone to malfunctions in brain physiology by virtue of genetic inheritance — influenced perhaps by drugs — it is the pending flaw in their brain functioning that matters...

Manic Depression (BiPolar), Schizophrenia or other serious psychological maladies of the brain respect no boundaries of upbringing. It happens...

There is psychosis and then there is fake psychosis ... this dude doesn’t seem to be faking it ... the evidence is already plentiful... a sudden deep break after months and years of extremely increasing odd behavior...

Personally - crazy or not — I don’t care if they shoot him via firing squad tomorrow ... I’m not posing a legal defense - but psychosis is real...

Crazy as hell people do dastardly things without help or influence from others... Their mind does not work like yours or mine ... their mind is broken... screwed up - it is wired wrong ... a.k.a. - whacko... Loco.... Think Jeffery Dahmer but not quite as off the charts...

Do some reading...

I already know the subject well, having had close family members so afflicted.

And yet the main point of the article stands: the shooter and the Left are alike in that they don’t fear God and they don’t respect innocent human life.

Which I guess shows the truth in the old saying, “liberalism is a mental disease.”

I can agree with that analogy ...

Leftists as with Islamo Fascists a.k.a. Al Qaeda are CULTS not unlike the more commonly known Jim Jones Kool Aid variety.

There a people who are susceptible to being convinced to become a CULT MEMBER... A Hallmark - They ‘believe’ despite strong and easily obtainable evidence to the contrary. It is similar to those among us who are easily hypnotized... some of us can easily be put under the ‘spell’ and many cannot..

Political Leftism is a CULT... plain and simple...
