Police believe that the gunman who shot a US congresswoman in an attack which left six dead and wounded 12 in the Arizona city of Tucson, did not act alone, the local sheriff said. ...believe Ms Giffords, who is out of surgery, was specifically targeted and say a suspicious package has since been found at her office.
Clarence Dupnik, sheriff of Pima County who is in charge of the probe into the attack, told a news conference authorities are seeking a second male in connection with the shooting.
"There's some reason to believe that he came to this location with another individual," he said.
Mr Dupnik said the gunman, who was arrested at the scene, "has kind of a troubled past, and we're not convinced that he acted alone".
He said the gunman had a criminal past and was unstable but not insane, adding that the man was not talking to police officers in custody.

It has been revealed that Ms Giffords, who had previously been the target of threats and vandalism over her positions on healthcare and immigration, had been worried about a map on Sarah Palin's website.
Ms Giffords is one of 20 Democrats whose districts were lit up with gun sight icons on Ms Palin's campaign website last year because they had voted for US president Barack Obama's landmark health care bill.
The congresswoman worried at the time that the imagery might incite violence.
"The way that she (Palin) had it depicted has the crosshairs of a gun sight over our district," Ms Giffords said.

You could tell from Bret Bair’s analysis, he was trying to rein her in from speculating. Then these idiots in the media (FOX included) report that this Congresswomen had been killed...ONLY TO REPORT A SHORT TIME LATER THAT SHE WAS IN SURGERY!
These media outlets (including FOX) should be sued!

And there has been NO MENTION of any video from security cameras at the shopping center. I find that, in and of itself, odd. There are security cameras EVERYWHERE.
PBS reported that the congresswoman had been killed. Then they apologized for the error, and said that they had been misinformed BY THE SHERIFF. The same sheriff who says there is an accomplice.
I think he was so eager to see a right-wing plot killing a Democrat congresswoman that he just plunged right in a jabbered away without any idea what he was talking about.
Like many liberals, he evidently is not really concerned about knowing the facts. Instead, he wants to use this for his own political purposes, and the hell with the facts.
I wouldn’t trust a thing he says, without independent confirmation.

Dupnik is an unprofessional idiot. I hope for their sake he loses the next election for sheriff.
The sheriff has already diagnosed the perpetrator as “unstable but not insane”. Presumably Dupnik must have been a psychiatrist before he became sheriff.
Just at a distant glance it seems to me that this shooter seems to be nutty as a fruitcake, and unlikely to be involved in a conspiracy with anyone else.
He admires in his video of “Second Constitution” - a term used sometime by the left-wingers for the 14th Amendment, when they interpret it as allowing a complete federal control over individual states and unrestricted immigration.
He is against God and a dollar (talks about “new” currency and uses the phrase “I don't trust in God” - a statement clearly directed against the famous slogan).
He adheres to the “conscious dreaming” - a shamanic way of life away from the modernity. And he laments that Americans are not all “dreamers”
And, he also burned American flag.
Yes, I wondered about that. Other crimes show it to be a possibility. About the incident in general - I am waiting to hear the full story, but I posted this article for an update.

I just knew listening to FOX’s Colby that a retraction was going to be necessary later in the day for some misinformation by these di*kwads. Sad to say I was proven correct.
As you mentioned, there should be “independent confirmation” before these A$$wipes report that a person has died. Can you imagine her parents or husband, or any other family member hearing that she had died when she HADN’T?
The media needed a story (FOX’s COLBY is an idiot!), and the Left needed a boogeyman as you noted.

The "killed" part was first reported by NPR. Everyone took it from them and ran with it.
