The FBI took control of this case within a few hours, after the perp was in custody of the local LEOs who determined identity, address, some history including a rap sheet, associations if possible and as much discovery the rules would allow. Then the public defender arrived.

Once turning over the investigation to the FBI, whose resources and manpower are limitless, we ought to have had a better profile into this character than what's being reported (rumored) on the MSM and cable news.

But.....then again, once the FBI, the stellar investigative agency in the country, took over, the case may be muddied up by the DoJ.

Hate to say it, JJ, but this is going to have more twists and turns than the Adirondack trail.
