Christie surges, Palin stumbles in new poll
Daily Caller ^ | 1/5/11 | Will Rahn

Posted on 01/05/2011 9:55:04 AM PST by pissant

According to a new Zogby poll, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie leads other possible Republican presidential candidates and would beat President Obama in a hypothetical matchup.

“Christie’s blunt talk about public employees and his aggressive actions on the New Jersey state budget have made him very popular both within the Republican Party and with independents,” said pollster John Zogby. “If he decided to run, Christie could quickly oust Romney as the favorite of establishment Republicans.”

“Our results are not good news for Palin,” continued Zogby. “She isn’t winning independents, and despite her star power with conservatives, she is not their first choice to take on Obama.”

Christie leads Obama 43 percent to 40 percent in a head-to-head contest. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney ties the president 41 percent to 41 percent. Both Christie and Romney lead the president among independent voters.

I don’t care about his fat. He’d have to do a serious, sincere 180 on his gun grabbing ways and rebuke his own prior statements.

Another day, another Palin ding. Unfortunately, Christie has categorically ruled out a run and this guy is a social Lib so this is moot.

I will be kind to you today Piss. I read the sad, sad news today. I am sure you are in mourning.

That is find. Let them. I will vote for Bachmann and will even write her name in if she gets knocked out by the RINOS. I feel like I have been lifted out of misery wondering who would be the best candidate to run for President. Michele Bachmann is that person and I could not be more thrilled. The thing I like about her is that she is an adult. She is not emotional and dramatic and is so mature in her actions. She speaks intelligently and is knowledgeable about all subjects and is a 100 percent conservative!!!

Christie is a rino. Liberal on guns , gays and abortions and pretty much everything except fiscal issues. If he ran , his record would soon be known and all these uninformed conservatives would quit posting they are for him.

Christie would be great, but he is committed to NJ and unless things change in the next year I think he will keep to his word. Romney on the other hand is like a disease that won’t go away.

I don’t think he’s going to change his mind, but sure wish he would - Christie would eat Zero’s lunch.,

I agree. If, at some point, it becomes apparent that Christie is the only one that can beat Obama, then the GOP power structure must urge him to run "for the good of the nation". We cannot tolerate another 4 years of this Marxist in the White House.

Which leads me to my questions..........who’s the money behind Christie and who among the “Elites” is his sponsor? It’s becoming obvious to me that Palin’s sponsor has pulled the plug on her campaign.

Giuliani was leading these same polls at the same time before 2008. And Christie, Romney, Palin, etc., are all within the margin of error among ‘independents’—probably because they are the least informed segment of the electorate and they generally actually only make up their minds in the last three weeks before the general election.

You don’t need to hide. He is a little “overly portly”

but I love the way he talks! LOL

I live in NJ, supported and voted for Christie, but this ‘Christie’ movement is pure nonsense and folly. This state was SOOOOOOOOO screwed up, that even Mickey Mouse would have looked good in making the most minimal changes upon taking over.

Christie is brash, and impulsive. Makes for great headlines, but if Palin acted that way, she would be burned at the stake!

I’ve said this before about Christie, but he has a real appeal to young people. They like his “in your face” dealings with the press (I’m speaking from conversations w/young professionals, under age 30.) It dawned on me they’ve never seen a politician, like him, in their lifetime. One who doesn’t pussyfoot w/the press and calls a spade a spade.

Can she win? Dang right she can if all conservatives back this adult and 100 percent conservative. I am all for Michele and know many of my Facebook Friends are thrilled with this. Of course I am from a conservative area so that might explain it.

Hey dude, you are aware that this is a poll conducted on the INTERNET and is being disseminated on the INTERNET. No network or cable news outfit was involved with this. To repeat: NO TV WAS INVOLVED.

I would suggest you shifting your crusade to attacking the true enemy. The computer.

Palin was trashed for supporting RINO McCain.

Christie gets a pass for supporting RINO Castle.

Without any “favor” or “IOU” due Castle!

I get a kick out of her because she is so gutsy. She will go on PMSNBC and mix it up with the worst of them.

She is fearless.

The problem is that Christie isn’t running. So....with Mitt beat Palin? If, like me, you don’t want Palin or Mitt, who is the best choice?
