Cut their pay 50%. When they go on strike, fire those that won’t cross the picket line and hire replacement workers. With unemployment as high as it is, there will be thousands applying for these jobs.
Unions have been getting away with this for decades - it’s time to slap them back down to size. Their leadership is nothing but organized crime.

“There’s certain agencies you just don’t cut.”
And there we have it, the proof is in the pudding. Entirely an act of retaliation.
The only problem is that they could fire all of them and replace them with a private non-union company and do the work. Funny how it happens eh? Screw the ‘little people’ over and the ‘little people’ fight back.

If true, they should all be fired and SEIU banned from NY.

Like many Democrat-run American cities, 'public service' unions have had free rein and do as they please. Mayors come and mayors go - almost always Democrats - and the unions hand them campaign contributions and votes and then call the shots on how they'll work and what they'll be paid. A little of the former and a lot of the latter. This is killing our cities. It has to stop. Unfortunately, many of the major U.S. cities are solidly Democrat and so, corrupt beyond measure. However, perhaps the sanitation union bosses went a bridge too far, this time. When people die because of a labor union's political games, it's time to put a stop to it. The whole concept of 'public service' unions is absurd, anyway. Still, this is New York, where leftist Democrats rule, so don't expect the kind of change that should happen. Too bad - but elections still have consequences and when you consistently elect corrupt Democrat politicians, bad things happen. Wake up, New York!

And yes! Lawsuits are in order, against the city and the unions.
