“This is not only notable by itself, but it has sparked similar criticism from other conservative sources. It’s interesting that she’s drawing this kind of fire from my fellow righties. “

They are not using the term ‘Republicans’, they are saying ‘Conservatives’ and ‘righties’.

This is an effort to assert that people such as Bush were conservative, therefore the conservatives don’t like Palin. The RINO GOP entrenched power structure is so threatened by Palin it’s not even funny.

Maybe compared to Obama Bush is conservative, but so is almost everyone to the right of Chairman Mao.

It is like how they use ‘GOP strategist’ for people who haven’t supported the GOP platform in years if they ever did.
It’s the wink and nod crowd. They want to make the average conservative and conservative independent doubt themselves and their own intuitions and instead accept someone like Romney who has at one time or another supported everything from Cap and Trade, Abortion, Gay activism, and Govt run Healthcare. What needs to happen is a concerted attack on the establishment candidates reminding people of their critical problems.

That's a really good and profound point. A beauty and strength of a two-party dominance is that basic lines can be drawn. The Republican party should stand for limited government. It creates a lot of blessings like more drilling and energy production, a better economy, a more moral people, more self-determination without expensive "fees" to the government in order to enjoy one's right to "the pursuit of happiness" -- limited government is key. The Democrat party stands for more government, more taxes, more restrictions to shackle people, to make it too expensive or downright illegal to pursue happiness, be it home improvement (permits can cost more than materials) or your relationships with doctors. Democrats want those means of control through government.

Republicans say, "Government, you're a servant. Get off my neck and back in the file drawer where you belong." Stop interferring with laws restricting legal and moral rejection of open homosexuality and abortion in the peoples' midsts. Stop interferring with health care and food and gas regulations that drive prices sky-high and thereby restrict freedom all around. People are forced to finance, with their labors, forced cultural support of immoral things like open, promoted homosexuality and abortion. If they fight them, they are fined or go to jail. Yet limited government and states' rights are designed such that people maintain the right to lawfully, legally, peacefully reject such things where they live and as they see fit. Free markets attend in a big way to keeping moral societies.

The Republican party needs to stand for limited government and more personal responsibility -- said responsiblity more financially accessible in a free thriving society than in the impoverished society that Democrats' Government Iron Fist creates.

It can be true and it needs to be true that the Republican party take that banner of limited government and all the moral and economic balance it brings, hold it high, and advance.

Palin's doing the best job I've seen in a long time. So if the GOP Elitists and RINOs want to take over the labels "rightie" and "conservative," then I'll happily settle for the label "Republican." As long as it stands for a general default approach of, for, and maintaining limited government and freedom of markets, religion, and self-determination.
