Men want to be appreciated and women want to be needed. It’s in our makeup. Sadly enough, women have been doing everything in their power to work against this nature.

In the past several decades men have been devalued and women taught that their needs come first. It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature.

Exactly. Watch one hour of network tv and notice how men are portrayed. It’s no wonder we are jaded.

“and women want to be needed.”

Not me. It’s too hard being needed by everyone. I think I would change that to “and women want to be wanted.” :)

Very good! I think you are one of the few who come closest to "getting it". This is a question I have considered for almost 40 years since majoring in Psych and reading the Freud quote. It came to me in a flash recently (epiphany, if you will) that the reason folks have been strggling with this is that they ARE ASKING THE WRONG QUESTION. It is so simple, really.

Almost like torture, in a sense, but the real question isn't what women want but what is it women DON'T want? It seems simple really but where one really can't make a sensible list of things women DO want one can instantly compile a LONG list of things women DON'T want. Primarily, to be alone. To have no one to talk to. So men and women aren't really all THAT different when you get down to it.
