Cain would be the first non-politician to win a major party's presidential nomination since the GOP chose Dwight Eisenhower as its candidate in 1952. The formidable odds against him, however, do not discourage Cain who, in 2006, was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer that had spread from his colon to his liver. He survived that and now, cancer-free for more than four years, finds inspiration in his survival.
"I happen to believe God said, 'Not yet.'
That inspired me to run for president, because I believe that I've got to try to make as big a difference on this planet as I can."

More: Herman's Right Nation Speech (outstanding), Meet Herman Cain, Atlanta Tea Party Speech,
I didn’t know who he was until I heard hin on FNC the other day making complete & total sense on the economy.
And I think a non politician outsider will be very much welcomed after 2 more years of BHO.
Thus far, I’m impressed. Wonder if he’ll be at CPAC?
Cain & Palin, Palin & Cain:
Either way works for me.
I like this guy. I supported him with donations when he ran for an office (I believe in North Carolina?) years ago. Then I lost track of him, but I’m glad he’s back on the radar screen.
To which my response is: I don't take the political class seriously.
President Pence or President Palin should appoint him to a major cabinet post. From there, he can run for anything.
FYI - Herman will be filling in on the Sean Hannity Show tomorrow (Tuesday) from 3-6pm Eastern
Will definitely be listening. More good exposure!
What, Herman isn’t lining up to run Palin’s campaign? Must be an Obama loving RINO then.
Not a very good comparison, though -- Eisenhower was a fairly typical example of Americans electing a general following a war.
Wendell Willkie is probably the better comparison, as he (like Cain) was highly successful, but had no prior political experience.
