I’ve been looking for one at gun shows, shops, and on the interwebs for a while now. I’m determined to add it to my collection. I’m sure I’ll run across one soon, but I got side tracked with that M1 carbine. I just couldn’t pass that up. I’ve taken it to the range twice and it’s a great little rifle. It turns out the guy I bought it from is a member of the private range where I go, he has since given me 3 more mags (now I have 7) and another box of ammo.
I think that’s the same set I have. They work good!
If the Carbine is MilSrp, you can still buy folding zytel stocks for them. With thirty rnd mags and the folding, that may be the best home defense rifle available. There are even hollowpoints and soft point rounds still available for the 30 cal.
I think of mine as a step up from the .357 lever rifle I owned ... those boating accidents right after selling the bulk of most of my weapons sure can devastate a collection.
Cool, that’s good to know.
It’s a great little HD weapon. I’ve got 2 thirty rounders and 5 fifteen rounders. It’s good to go.
I had a friend shoot his non-military M1 and the extractor flew off. He was so disgusted with the rifle he traded it to me for a little .38 snubby. I order Iver Johnson heat treated replacement parts and did a complete rebuild on the bolt, so now it is very reliable and I can pop shotgun shells at 200 yards with the scope ... or could, before that darn boating trip.
I hate boats!! Every time I buy a new firearm, it ends up sinking in some darn boat. Boats are dangerous and very unreliable. I guess I’m a boatmophobe.
