Damn, I’m so sorry...................., God that sucks.....Take care man
Thanks..He will be greatly missed one of the finest dogs ever. He might not have been one of the most fearsome guard dogs but he was Extemely LoyaL...A good little dog until the end.....
A long time ago my dog was put down the day after Christmas.
RIP Buddy....Look for Princess when you get to heaven.
I am so very sorry for your loss. It is hard to explain the sting of their loss to someone who has never loved a pet. Buddy was your buddy. You were there with him and for him till the end. He will be there for you later (I truly hope that all my buddies are waiting for me). Understand that it will take a while to accept the situation. How many times after losing a pet did I come home and call for them only to realize they weren’t there. Please do not rush out in hopes of trying to ease your pain with another dog soon. Take some time. I’ve been there as well and if you aren’t ready then you aren’t ready. When the time comes, you will find another friend... not the same but a friend. God bless!
Sorry about your loss. I have a cute little dog that I love dearly.
Here is a very sad Christmas tale that is true and happened the morning of Dec. 24th!!! I agreed to dog sit with a friend’s Dachshund from Dec. 21st to Dec. 28th. The dog was 13 years old and had always been vigorous. So, the dog came to our home and was fine until Thursday evening when she refused to eat her supper. Since this was unusual for her, I was concerned. Later in the evening she began to make sounds of a choking noise in her throat, and this behavior continued until 3:30 a.m. with occasional times of quiet. At 3:30 a.m. I called the emergency vet and was told that I could either bring her in, or wait until morning. I still was under the impression she had perhaps swallowed a piece of rawhide which had caught in her throat. About 3:45 she suddenly jumped down from my lap and jumped up on to the hide-a-bed and crawed underneath the covers. Since this was her usual sleeping pattern, I decided that I would join her and get a few hours of sleep. My own dog slept on top of the covers. When I awoke in the morning the visiting dog was very quiet., so I lifted up the covers and she was dead!!! I was filled with various emotions - sadness, dismay, regret that I did not take he to the emergency room at 3:30 in the morning, etc. I called the owners in Arizona to relate the sad information.
They were not as surprised as I was, as they had forgotten to tell me that she had a serious heart condition. They had been warned about a year ago that the dog had only about a 6 month life expectancy. They apologized for forgetting to tell me this bit of information. Needless to say, this went a long way to helping me accept this event.
The moral of this story is to be sure to ask about the pet’s medical conditions before you assume responsibility for the animal. If I had known the history of the little dachsie, I would have been emotionally prepared to endure the possible death of the animal.
What an experience this was for me. I am still a bit in shock over it.
