DADT was a kind of nothing burger but it was a big deal to a very few people. DADT will be completely forgotten in March of 2011 and there probably will never be blatantly open homosexuals sharing bunks, showers and foxholes.

You are sadly mistaken, we have lost the culture war. When the military Chain of Command is fully faggoted, a hetero will not stand a chance.

Ahem.....well I will soon be zotted because of your little teeny actions, a member of this group since 2001, so I guess I’m not allowed to express a little innocuous opinion.

Lookit, you could be right. I’m no expert on the military. By me I think this DADT was more a social thing, another rung to climb up to complete social acceptance of homosexuality, to an end of marriage.

I don’t approve of it in any way and frankly thought, like most of America, that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell was a very fair way to handle the thing.

My argument is more that I don’t think it’s any big accomplishment and don’t think America will view it that way. Lately I’ve been hearing things that the Pentagon’s going to take its good ole time implementing it.

But hey, I been a member of FreeRepublic for ten years but I guess I’ll be gone soon, thanks to you for keeping the likes of me off of here.

Be talking at you.

The military will resist quietly but that won’t accomplish much in the face of the judicial onslaught that is unleashed by this act. All it will take for the military to hit the wall is for a homosexuals to get into positions where they can influence acceptance of candidates to the academies. The Catholic Church saw what comes of that when homosexuals bit by bit got into such positions in the seminaries. Such progression is inevitable in the normal course of promotion and assignment. Once in such positions the harm they do cannot be undone without total return tothe homosexual ban in the military. The Church can see the damage and turn things around and did. The military cannot. In things political there is only one direction.Progression can be slowed but the direction cannot be changed short of outside conquest or collapse and civil war. No matter how bad the situation becomes such “solutions” wiould be far worse.
