The Senate voted 67-28 to pass a cloture motion, seemingly enough to assure final ratification. Eleven Republicans joined with 56 Democrats to pass the cloture motion.
It will take 67 votes to ratify the New Start pact, which would give the Obama administration its top foreign policy goal in the lame-duck session.
Among Republicans announcing their support were Richard G. Lugar of Indiana, George V. Voinovich of Ohio, Scott Brown of Massachusetts, Olympia J. Snowe and Susan Collins of Maine, Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker of Tennessee, Johnny Isakson of Georgia, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Thad Cochran of Mississippi, and Bob Bennett of Utah. All voted for cloture.

Neville?
Neville? Where are you?
"They rejoiced with us that peace was preserved, and with us they look forward to further efforts to consolidate what has been done." <- I bet they do!
From Speech given in Defense of the Munich Agreement, 1938 Neville Chamberlain
Scott Brown for President! Wooo, Wooo!
Scott Brown for President! Wooo, Wooo!
Scott Brown for President! Wooo, Wooo!
Scott Brown for President! Wooo, Wooo!
All you who posted such nonsense remember that you did.
What a bunch of worthless, addle-brained weasels we have passing as Republicans today! Is there any point to negotiating with the Russians? The only one that I can think of is that simpletons in the electorate THINK that you are working toward world peace. Bob
If ANYTHING happens to this Country involving the nuclear arsenals between America and Russia, it will be on the heads of those who supported this crap treaty.
I was born in MA, don’t have to tell me.
I just think it’s funny how people acted like we really pulled one off when he got elected.
Well, if anything does happen and probably will at some point, I don’t think there will be enough people alive who will care or even understand what happened. The same people and same kind of people who ran the Soviet Union, also run Russia. That sums it all up and its clear the deviant ones in DC don’t care or seam to understand that they will also be going the way of the Dodo along with everyone else. I guess they think that by sum great magic or belief in themselves will negate the laws of physics and human nature.
sum = some

Feels like the 1970s and the useful idiots are back in charge.
I have to look up the address to write to Sen Brown’s campaign and ask for my money back.
Some of the GOP Senators who voted yes on the Cloture vote, might not vote for the treaty.
At any rate, the fact that these things ALWAYS SEEM TO GET THOUGH WITH “JUST ENOUGH” VOTES makes it look VERRY suspicious.
Almost like there is some kind of collusion between the GOP and the Dems/Obama.
“These filthy traitors just insured an Obama re-election.”
Can you explain, in what way has this ensured obama’s reelection?
Just watch his poll numbers go up among “moderate” Republicans and Independents.
