Anyway to get around the law, eh Diane? Filner is beneath contempt. Neither of him have a clue about the Rule of Law.

Is there no conservative in the Senate that would put a hold on such a bill? Apparently not.

Approve one a day? Sure that’s a reasonable number if the border fence is built.

These private bills are sometimes a pretty nice source of income for members of congress.

Friends who have worked in U.S. Immigration agencies over the years point out that these bills are followed by background checks for “good moral character,” and one of the guidelines for the investigators is not to ask if there was any quid pro quo for the sponsoring member of congress.

Interesting that congress would rule that nobody is allowed to ask if they get bribes or payoffs for sponsoring legislation.

Also interesting to note that Feinstein sponsored such a large percentage of these bills.

Doesn’t legislation like this get VERY close to being a ‘Bill of Attainder’?

Uhm.........Aren’t those bills of attainder? Aren’t those expressly forbidden in our constitution?

And yet they couldn’t vote to save Terri Schiavo’s life because that would have been a bill of attainder and been against the law? The world is truly turned upside down!

America is at that awkward stage; it's too late to work
within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.

There is no talk about the other bill that passed in the dead of night over the weekend...the food safety bill. Still trying to find out about it. Barf!
