Barney Frank: Death Tax Not Punishment; Heirs Didn’t Do Anything to Deserve Inheritance
breitbart ^

Posted on 12/19/2010 6:11:19 PM PST by ChicagoConservative27

Mr. Frank's attitude seems to be that Americans need to justify why they should keep the money they inherit instead of the government needing to justify why they should be allowed to confiscate it.

Homosexuality: culture of death.

Barney has no progeny, no “interest” in the future, no belief that he will witness (from which vantage point we can't be entirely certain — certainty at this juncture would rule out confession of sins and asking for forgiveness)the lives of future generations.

He has no sympathy for the transmission of wealth down a family line, since such acts within the elemental unit of civilization are utterly alien to him.

Thus added to his base instincts of demagoguery, politics of envy and resentment of financial achievemnent in the private sector is his buggery, not quite sociopathic in a strict sense, but disordered as hell.

Yeh its just not FAIR for some people to inherit a lot of money that their family worked hard to make so they could provide a better life for their kids. Its not FAIR that the crack ho’s kids have nothing. Its only FAIR to take the inheritance of those idle rich kids and spread it around to the crack ho’s kids. Crack’s expensive don’t ya know.

The only way to stop all this and take all the power out of their hands and back into ours is the FAIR TAX - no IRS (the Gestapo ARm of the gov’t) - no reporting of income or sources..

Just a federal sales tax - with the individual deciding how much he psends on taxes by what and how much he chooses to buy. (The first $20,000 or so, basic living allowance will be compensated for -

With the FAIR TAX - all the illegals and drug pushers etc will be paying form dollar one - no way around it.

Washington would take in MORE money - but their power over people would be cut off at the knees. Lobbiests would out of work.

Employers, who would not have matching payroll taxes and a lot less bookkeeping to pay for, could hire more people -= more jobs.

You pay check would not have ONE DIME taken out.

Cost of goods would even out and come down and the cos of doing business would be less - no need to recoup that loss with higher prices -etc etc

WE would have freedom like we’ve never seen it in our lifetimes. And imagine, April 15th - just another day on the calendar...no tax forms.

I will provide a real-life example.

My father is an artist, and a rather good one. Although, he is retired, and managing his estate plans, as it were.

Recently, a good friend of his passed on - also an artist, somewhat advanced in age.

The IRS went into the friend’s studio, valued all of his unsold paintings at retail, and immediately siezed his widow’s house for the estate taxes. Put her right out on the street.

Government, as you know, is here to help.

So a short time later, I visit my Dad’s studio - “Hey, Dad, you must be having a great year - all of the unsold paintings are gone!”

“I burned them. Didn’t want your mother to lose the house.”

Oh how sad, but funny!

I had an art teacher who was a sculptor.

He worked in bronze.

His wife was very proud of his work, and when the IRS came by and asked the value of some of the sculptures, she quoted grandiose retail prices.

When her husband got home and found out he had a fit as until sold they are only worth the weight of the material.

I don't know if that would work for paintings, the cost of the frame, canvas, paint etc.

That is exactly true - they are only worth the value of the input costs, if given as a charitable gift, etc.

But for estate calculation ... full retail price, even if nobody will pay it, in a down economy.

“We are from the government, and we are here to help.”

If Da Vinci burned his paintings to avoid his wife losing the house, could we say the government was helpng? Not that my Dad is Da Vinci, but who knows?

I want someone to explain to me why people on welfare are allowed to have children so that I have to give my money to the government to support them instead of supporting my children after my death?

If you can’t produce you shouldn’t be allowed to reproduce.

So the wishes of someone who earns enough to have an estate is of no consequence because the government declares it to be so?

That's tyranny.

Isn't it interesting that he waited until the Kennedys were out of government/gone before making this statement?

100% of the people I know who worked the family farm or family business? Worked for lower wages then they could have gotten from some government tit job or an overpaid union job.

They did it to keep the family dream alive and the freedom you get from self employment.

Now I have serious issues with all the farm subsidies. (Seperate issue.)

The inheritence tax is a tax for thieves like War-on Buttfest to come in and steal at 25 to 40% value the family businesses or farm of his choosing.

It’s the most criminal tax we have.

Yep. Often they have to sell the business to save it, or enough of it it is no longer economically viable (especially with farms).

The taxes were paid once on the money that went into the business, once is enough.

You people are exercising remarkable restraint.

I like to take cheap shots. This one is far to easy. By the restraint is not in my nature.

Yes, we don't need that picture image and details.

We certainly don't.

My business has an IRS value of 1.5 to 3mil depending on their creativity. I die tomorrow and my family has to do a fire sale to pay the taxes. Even at the low end they lose everything I’ve built for 20 years. We came from absolute poverty so how in the hell does this tax punish the rich?
