North Korea has deployed multiple rocket launchers along the shore north of Yeonpyeong, Baeknyeong and Gangwha islands in response to a planned South Korean artillery drill on Yeonpyeong, government sources here say. The North earlier threatened an "unpredicted self-defense counterattack" to the drills.

A South Korean government source said, "After making the threat in a message sent Friday, North Korea raised the alert level at artillery divisions on the west coast and deployed the multiple rocket launchers."

The North also reportedly made coastal artillery ready to fire and put some fighter jets on the west coast on standby.

Thank you for taking the time to translate that....yes it was a little old,.....and yet to see people huddled as that knowing firing was happening around them always makes me very grateful that so far we have not had to expereince this and wonder if outright war is going to explode.

I am hoping that these events now will lead to something concrete being done about the North. But with all the political issues it’s not going to happen overnight.

All of those say ‘reunification’.

That said, this picture probably scares the living cr@p out of the Norks. For it shows that the South Koreans want reunification... and their military is eager for it, too. If you get my drift.

Yeah, probably in 2-6 months... and it a manner we weren’t expecting.

Maybe a ballistics missile test, or a nuke test, or midget sub with a squad of commandos, or maybe they’ll randomly shoot down a South Korean jetliner.

That photo has them all wearing "reunification" (tong-il), however the one I was yesterday was REALLY out of site. I will try hard to find it.

It was two ROK soldiers eye to eye, unsmiling, on guard, and one had the yellow helmet band saying "reunification", and the other said "obliterate communism". Again I will see if I can find it.

South Korean soldiers took a bunch of South Korean Christmas Gospel singers from a major Christian church, right up into the DMZ last night. At a guard post clearly visible on a tall hill to North Korean soliders just below and across the fence, they a) erected a Christmas Tree on an existing antenna array; b) turned the Christmas lights on (it has a cross on the top) (North Koreans threatened to fire on them if such lights were brought up to the MDL), and c) sang Christmas carols across the DMZ, as I understand, their music amplified by big ass South Korean speaker. See the ROK Army on guard with the singers as they sing across the border to North Korea last night. Unimagineable under the previous appeasing regimes of Ro Mu Hyon and Kim Dae Jung.

It's when they start wearing headbands saying "Tea Party Rules"

and "Palin for Pres"

then you need to take note

It occurs to me, the yellow headbands may actually have “reunification” on the front and “obliterate communism” on the reverse. That would explain that photo yesterday I saw.

you made some typo here.

F-16K => there aren't fighter jet called F-16K. it's KF-16 which means license produced F-16 fighter jet in Korea.

I think you may wanted to say the F-15K,K means Korea.
F-15K is F-15E fighter bomber that were produced in US with our options.

KDX3 King Sejong the Great => KD3 Sejong The Great
KDX2 Chungmugong Yi Sun-sin class destroyers => KD2 blah blah.

those are comissioned destroyers so you can't attach that "X(eXperiment)" in there.

KD3 class Aegis destroyer, KD2 class, KD1 class

KD3 class has 128 cells of VLS(80 Mk41 VLS, 48 KVLS), 1 RAM + 1 CoalKeeper CIWS and others.

I know I’m late to this thread, but I wanted to bump for this picture.

For some reason, my screen got really blurry when I read this.

Salvation and Vision,
I pinged you because I’m on your ping lists and thought this might be of interest.

Unknown for now what the gift was.

Richardson says NK agreed to the following concessions:

To sell 12,000 nuclear fuel rods, enough to make 5-6 nuclear weapons, to SK.

A military commission between the US, NK and SK (not China).

A military hotline with SK.

80 MIA's from the Korean War, "just discovered" after 58 years.

IAEA inspectors allowed to come back with "full" access.

NK now says that since SK fired in a different direction than last month, there was no need to retaliate.

So what have we learned? NK prefers cheap-shot sneak attacks over direct confrontation. They are bullies that blink in the face of force. That SK will be taking the leadership role from now on in dealing with NK. That SK is done with apocalyptic threats from NK.

NK is extremely clever, they'll be back, poking and prodding SK. Let us hope that SK does not lose its resolve to terminate the NK regime if NK ever shoots at SK again.

I'm signing off this latest episode of nuclear holocaust. Merry Christmas.
