North Korea has deployed multiple rocket launchers along the shore north of Yeonpyeong, Baeknyeong and Gangwha islands in response to a planned South Korean artillery drill on Yeonpyeong, government sources here say. The North earlier threatened an "unpredicted self-defense counterattack" to the drills.
A South Korean government source said, "After making the threat in a message sent Friday, North Korea raised the alert level at artillery divisions on the west coast and deployed the multiple rocket launchers."
The North also reportedly made coastal artillery ready to fire and put some fighter jets on the west coast on standby.

Which means they likely won't. I believe the NORKS fear SK.
Thats what I figured, they would be a fool to do it today with everything and everybody on standby. They will wait and bide their time, when everyones gaurd is down. Next week, next month or 3 months from now, and the south won’t even see it coming.
The Korean War never ended, They just signed a cease fire.
At the end of the day I would not be surprised if all that red was green......
Thank you. Great input!

If I were you I would do a little homework before spouting off like that to another freeper, we are a tight community, who are you again???????
Well CNN/CNNI? is back live....
All I see is a repeat of CNN......
#ROK defense ministry won’t confirm drill has ended. Artillery firing still heard on Yeonpyeong by AP reporter
In the USA its the “dead zone” newswise, even here in Alaska at a bit after 10pm there is no news, everyone has gone to bed.
Just getting on the thread...looks like S.Korea is done with their drill...and so we wait to see how Kim will or not respond. Serious business on the playing field, that’s for sure...how far Kim will take this is questionable with the political status there as it is in the hierarchy. Not to mention the Un security meeting...as if they can do anything about this.
Oh reallly, I thought it had stopped...
CNN must be doing just top of the hour live reports....oh well, hopefully this whole things cools off again, but then one day it may just go too far...
I just wonder how much fire discipline is among the lower ranks of the NORKs, they have been conditioned practically from birth to wage war against the south, must be very hard for them to not panic when hearing arty going off or hearing aircraft that isn’t theirs.
KDX III 7600 ton-class "King Sejong the Great" aegis ship, in addition the 4500 ton class KDX-II Chungmugong Yi Sun-sin class destroyers (two of those at least), so the Yellow Sea has been pretty active today. ...Open Source, Chosun Ilbo news about 20 minutes ago....I dont know about US resources from Okinawa etc. but if they were not open source I wouldnt be putting them out here anyways. One could hear USAF or Japanese Air Self Defense Force activity briefly in the skies over Tokyo today about the time of the shelling starting, but might have been coincidential and it was not pronounced nor lengthy. Was not fixed wing.
I think the MSM sent everyone home, if they even remotely thought they was going to be a cross border conflagration they would have their first and second line of newscasters ready.
Since all I see is prerecorded stuff it looks like there won’t be any audience for the Norks to perform to.
Was not fixed-wing?
You mean you heard helos or Osprey possibly instead?
Good points....
