If you’ve ever watched M.A.S.H., the character Klingle uses his dressing up as a woman to try to get himself out of the Army. That series was pre-DADT, supposedly set during the conflict in Korea, when we had a draft and homosexuality was an instant 4F (reject).
I have seen the show, but was quite young. If Klingle’s intent was to get out and being gay was an 4F, why wasn’t he rejected? Because he wasn’t really gay?
