Actually, no one sin is greater than another, except blasphemy of the Holy Ghost.
Which is unforgivable,
You are absolutely correct, LV R.
Just a matter of definition, not “greater” or lesser.
Lust
Gluttony
Greed
Sloth
Wrath
Envy
Pride
all are deadly...
“Actually, no one sin is greater than another, except blasphemy of the Holy Ghost.”
Actually, this true as far as any sin making one guilty of being a sinner, but the Bible evidences a degree of guilt, in terms of accountability, (Lk. 16:48) and types of sins:
(Colossians 3:5-8) “{5} Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: {6} For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: {7} In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
{8} But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. “
Furthermore, it was not for being impatient or smoking that God destroyed Sodom (nor was it primarily for inhospitality), but for gross sin and remaining impenitent which was a product of their idolatry, the mother of sins.
I would think you could add the below to your list of things that really tick God off.
In the KJV "detestable" is "abomination"
Now personally, "Abomination" sure sounds like "ObamaNation" to me.
