This is how these people think. Like I keep on saying, they have no clue what is really at stake because they have never served, nor do they understand the rules.
They relate everything to their moderate gray little world, where everything is open to change or debate.
In this case, only a true Veteran can understand the finality of this issue.
Way too much is at stake. Deployment tensions and stresses are bad enough without them being social engineered. The best interest of the service must come first. This has been blatantly ignored for twenty years now. The social changes made in that time frame so far by no means have served to further the mission of the United States Armed Forces nor increase it's efficiency or effectiveness.
