Omaha Steaks Drops Glenn Beck
Omaha Steaks ads recently started running on Glenn Becks program on Fox News.
As with other advertisers, participants in the StopBeck effort reached out to Omaha Steaks. We kindly requested that they follow the responsible action of hundreds of other former advertisers and refrain from advertising on Glenn Becks show.
Well, your efforts paid off.
This morning, Omaha Steaks announced that they were removing their ads from Glenn Becks program (emphasis added):
Omaha Steaks buys large units of national television advertising during the holiday season. This year, we bought a package of advertising through the Fox Network. We did not specifically request to be included on the Glenn Beck program. As part of our contract, the Omaha Steaks ads run in a variety of time slots throughout the day.
We took your comments regarding the Glenn Beck Program to heart. After further review and careful consideration, we have decided to pull all advertising from Glenn Beck programming effective December 20th, 2010. Unfortunately, due to advertising cancellation policies, we were bound to continue possible ad placements through Sunday, December 19th.
At Omaha, we greatly value the loyalty and support of our customers, fans and followers and thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.
Great work all! See, your tweets and messages really do matter.
Here we see another advertiser stepping up and taking the responsible action. Dont dismiss these actions, they are important steps as we continue to gear up for our broader DropFox accountability effort.
Onward we go
Thanks.
Whoa. I just spent a little time on your link to the companies stopbeck.com claims to have persuaded not to advertise on Beck’s program. If they’re not blowing smoke, omaha steaks is the least of our concerns, since most people here probably don’t do much, if any, business with omaha steaks. But, how about Sears? Walmart? State Farm Insurance? Geico? Coca-Cola? And on and on, the stopbeck site claims all of them and includes copies of written statements from some of these companies as well. Can this be for real?
Oh, also, at the bottom of the page they thank SEIU and others for their support!

They could just put a disclaimer in their commercials. TV and radio stations do that all the time to religious programs.
I sent them an email telling them that because of their decision I will no longer be buying their products and neither will my daughter and her husband, his parents and my brother and sister-in-law. I told them that perhaps the Stop Beck people would buy the steaks we didn’t. That was followed by an OOPS a lot of them are vegetarians.
I normally buy steaks for my brother at this time each year and my brother sends my daughter and her husband and my wife and I packages of steaks. My daughter’s in-laws also used to buy steaks. I don’t think my daughter & her husband did, but they won’t support someone who supports the Stop Beck movement. Now 3 orders a year isn’t much but it’s probably more than the Stop Beck group buys in total.
Received this from a relative a few days ago.
Here is a wonderful Christmas gift idea! Go to www.patboonemeats.com and you will discover the best steaks you have ever tasted and help eliminate hunger around the world. Use this specific promo code tammy (no quotation marks needed) and receive free shipping! This will make a wonderful Christmas gift.
Not sure how to make the like active.
I can't even afford steaks from Meijers anymore let alone Omaha.............
I guess they should only advertise on the Yule Log TV Show and the Puppy Bowl.
Do people not understand how life works?
Has Beck discussed that website at all?
BoycottOmahaSteaks> Un-American company opposes free speech. Cancels Glenn Beck advertising. Their F/B page Omaha Steaks Facebok page
Click it and leave them your "Merry Christmas"
The power of the internet is awesome to behold.
Told them they’re off my shopping list.
I don’t watch Glenn Beck but I do order from Omaha Steaks. I doubt that’s going to change. I don’t much care for boycotts by either side. All businesses want to do is move their product. Liberals suck with their anti-capitalist threats. I’m not going to let them force me to alter my choices.
I would love to be a fly on the wall at the next Omaha Steaks board meeting when the parties responsible for this decision are handed boxes of negative emails, facebook and twitter comments and asked to explain how in the hell they could make such a stupid decision.
I’ve never heard any of these companies’ ads on the show in the first place, so I’m not sure the lib website’s claims are an accomplishment if there were no ads to pull. Have you heard any of their ads on the show?
>> Boycott Omaha steaks.
PC d-bags.
A waste of shipping and polystyrene.
Support your local butcher.
AboutStopBeck.com is a nonpartisan effort focused on holding Glenn Beck accountable for preying on racial anxieties, employing vitriolic rhetoric, propagating sexism and disseminating willful distortions. Our purpose is to urge sponsors to stop supporting Glenn Becks brand of hate with advertising dollars.
To be clear: This effort is not about Glenn Becks political opinions. Rather, this effort is in direct response to Mr. Becks continued recklessness. Neither Fox News nor Glenn Beck will take responsibility for the willful lies, propagation of sexism or preying in racial anxieties. Accordingly, we are compelled to bring accountability back to broadcasting. We would prefer that Mr. Beck, regardless of his opinions, act responsibly.
StopBeck began on July 2, 2009. It was and remains primarily a Twitter effort.

Nonpartisan Tweeters for social justice! LMAO!!!!
"Nonpartisan" my *ss! If the claims were obvious no disclaimer would be necessary. I wonder how much Soros drops these looney tunes? I also wonder who authored this nondescript vague politically correct leftist drivel "about" statement? You can't make this stuff up... These misguided morons are no doubt some of the useful idiots that elected the empty suit community organizer otherwise known as the epic failure with a well developed teleprompter skillset...
I respect your choice to continue ordering with Omaha. Based on the replies in this thread Omaha steaks is retaining 1% of the FR biz.
Almost bought their gift packs this year, but decided they were over-priced. They are now permanently off my shopping list.
I very rarely listen to or watch Glenn, so maybe someone else can answer this for you. Anyone?
Can you tweet to buy from :
