Well, they could keep letting people cheat on their taxes buy purchasing things online from retailers who have no presense in the state. Soon people would make ALL their purchases from out-of-state, and pay NOT sales tax.

Of course, then there would be no SALES in the state, all the stores would close, all the people would be laid off, and nobody would have any money to buy anything.

But at least people wouldn’t have to pay their sales taxes.

The problem is, what right does IL or any other state have to impose taxes on purchases from vendors from other states? If some one from Delaware visits Il or purchases things online from an Il vendor are their taxes waived? People in Delaware don’t pay a sales tax, so if they are using that product in Delaware then why should they be paying a tax on it?
