“”Running in the halls was pretty severely punished “”

Let’s let the old folks here tell us what was NOT allowed when we were in school:

Talking in class
Chewing gum in class
Running in hallways
Being late for class
Not turning in homework timely
Passing notes in class
Cussing - goes without saying (same as in the home)
Interrupting a teacher - goes without saying!! (same as in the home)

WHAT was expected of students:
Addressing the teacher by Mr/Mrs/Miss
Total attention to class subjects
Obeying ALL rules

We were actually expected to dress appropriately.

When I was in school the senior class had T-shirts made up that said something like “Kick Ass Class”. They looked like fools running around with their shirts inside out all day. This was in the early 80s.
